How to get more water into your system
I was sitting with a good friend today having coffee and the topic came up that we both suffer from serious side effects of not drinking enough water each day.
Now we're both intelligent, well educated women who know that we need to drink a couple of litres of water each day, so the question staring us both blankly in the face was "Why don't we then?". Do we think we're camels and we can pull it from some store on our back?
It's an easy answer really - in between the piles of washing, trips to the doctor, dentist and school, cooking dinner and cleaning up toilet training accidents, drinking 8 glasses of water a day is a small feat comparable to climbing Mt Everest for the average worn out Mother!
My recent (and highly successful) solution to this problem has been to add drinking water into my daily morning routine. I'll go through my whole routine, and the importance of having one over the coming weeks, but for now let's just get started with Step 1:
DRINK MORE WATER!
Each night before bed I fill up a 1.5 litre bottle of water and sit it beside my bed. In the morning when I wake up I pick that baby up and I don't put it down till it's done! It goes everywhere with me - to the kitchen to boil the kettle, back to the bathroom for a shower, then into the kids rooms while I make their beds. It's like getting your workout in at the start of the day - you're hydrated, the toxins your body processed overnight are flushed out of your system and you're pumped and ready for the day.
Try it out and let me know if it works for you!
Happy drinking!
Nicole
